Can You Get Fat From Eating Mango?

When it comes to fat loss, I recieve hundreds of e-mails on a daily basis.

And one of the e-mails I got yesterday contain a question from a suscriber who want me to tell her if Mango is fattening.

Mango is very popular fruit in Nigeria. And I think the major reason why many people believe it’s fattening is because it’s sweet.

But in truth….

Mango is NOT fattening!

Let me explain.

Mango has a good supply of fibre. A medium sized mango contains 2.6g of fibre and contains just 150 calories.

The major reason why some people “think” that it’s fattening is because of the sweetness of mango when you eat it.

It is true that Mango contains sugar.

But the sugar in Mango is actually what we call “good sugar”.

That is to say…it’s Natural healthy complex sugar that the body breaks down slowly and does not cause weight gain.

This type of sugar is completely different from the granulated simple white crystal sugar that you put in your food.

The glycemic index of mango is 41-60, which makes it safe for even diabetic patient to eat.

A cup of sliced mango is packed with lots of nutrients such as vitamin C, pottasium, and a healthy does of Vitamin A.

THe Health Benefits Of Mangoes

1. Helps In Digestion:

Mango is rich in fibre and water content.

ANd it will help you poop more, especially if you feel consitpated.

2. Lowers Bad Cholesterol:

Mango contains fibre, Vitamin C and Pectin that can help your body lower Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) also known as bad cholesterol.

3. Prevents Heart Diesease

Mango contains potassium, and vitamin that keeps the heart healthy and also helps to boost your immune system.

Other health benefits includes Asthma prevention, better bone health, prevents cancer and also aids weight loss.

Now let me warn that, I am not saying that when you eat “Mango” on it’s own, you will lose weight.

But if you add it as part of a healthy diet, it will not make you gain weight.

So if you are currently undergoing a fat loss program, such as my 21-Day Detox Program , You can eat Mango as a snack in between meals or use it as one of the fruit ingredients to make a fat loss smoothie.
